The Story

OK, here’s the deal. My fiance and I moved here about 2 and a half years ago, right out of college. As part of the reduced rent to family landlords, we gutted this place and renovated everything in it. We tore out the dated, U-shaped, claustrophobic kitchen and completely changed the layout, imported Poliform cabinetry, top-of-the-line appliances, and obssessed over the design of a modern, clean, amazingly functional gem of a kitchen. We tore up the 3 different floors (wood, linoleum tile, carpet) and put beautiful, large square Italian gray limestone tiles throughout, matching it with a wool-blend carpet in the bedrooms. We also gutted both bathrooms, and added all new, clean, designer fixtures. We tore out the master “closet” and bathroom, and completely changed the layout to a Master Suite, complete with Poliform cabinetry in the closet and bathroom.

It’s the little attention to detail and finishes that really make this place stand out. It’s having swanky music playing in every room (including the Master Bath, Master Suite, Master Bedroom, Kitchen, ….) and making an amazing espresso with the press of one button. It’s getting ready in the mornings after a luxurious rain-shower, and getting dressed in an extremely functional Master Suite. It’s flipping on the projector in the bedroom to watch a movie on a 10 foot screen using the whole-house PVR system, and having the audio switch from whole-house to the movie with no remotes or buttons. It’s entertaining friends in the kitchen, and then strolling down the street to a restaurant. It’s having Publix so close, it’s quicker to walk than drive….

In short, this place is nothing short of amazing. Everyone who has seen it has said so. We are soon to be featured on HGTV’s “What You Get For The Money.” We are a showcase home for the $300,000 episode, to be aired before March of 2006. We were asked to be in the Junior League Tour of Kitchens, also coming up in March 2006.

Why are we putting it on the market, and moving along, having just completed all of these amazing renovations? Well, we’ve got eyes on the next place — having put so much effort into making this place amazing, we want to do it again. Jodi is only beginning to flex her design talent and attention to detail.
